Iers-Engels socialist (Oost-Carbery, Ierland, 1785 - Clounksen, Cork, 28 Mrt 1833), studeerde te Dublin, Oxford en Londen en leefde als grondeigenaar in Cork. Uitgaande van het utilitarisme werd hij een aanhanger van een communistische economie en van Owen’s theorieën.
