Engels dichter (Horsham St Faith’s, bij Norwich ca 1561 - Londen 21 Febr. 1595), werd in 1578 Jezuïet en praefect van het Engelse college te Rome. In 1586 begon hij een missiereis naar Engeland, ofschoon bij ontdekking hem de doodstraf wachtte; in 1592 werd hij gevangengenomen en in 1595 terechtgesteld.
