Engels psycholoog (Londen 10 Sept. 1863 - 17 Sept. 1945), studeerde psychologie bij Wundt in Leipzig en was sinds 1907 verbonden aan de Universiteit van Londen als hoogleraar in de filosofie (1911), daarna in de psychologie (1931). Hij verwierf zich vooral bekendheid door zijn onderzoekingen over de intelligentie.
