Amerikaans psycholoog (Chicago 29 Mei 1887), is sinds 1919 hoogleraar in de psychologie, thans te Chicago. Van oorsprong ingenieur, werd Thurstone een der grondleggers van de statistische psychologie, waarbij i.h.b. de intelligentie aan factor-analyse werd onderworpen.
Zijn publicaties betreffen de statistische methodiek en de toepassingen daarvan in de psychologie.Bibl.
