Warehouses in Wormer

A few warehouses along the Zaan are still made of wood, such as the warehouse Schepel (Veerdijk 22), originally belonging to oil mill 'De Schepel' and in 1875 - after the demolition of the mill - renewed and intended for cocoa storage. The neighboring grain warehouses Maas (Veerdijk 23; 1875), later used for cocoa, and Waal (Veerdijk 24; 1880) are also made of wood. This is also the warehouse that now serves as a residence in Riga (Veerdijk 63, circa 1915).
