The ruin of the Herv church in Oude Niedorp

betekenis & definitie

(Dorpsstraat 31) has a one-sided layout with a narrow, three-sided closed choir. The possibly early 16th century and originally dedicated to St. Werenfridus was rebuilt in 1648 and stripped of its original aisles and tower (1732) in 1814. After the restoration in 1953, the church was completely burnt out in 1977, after which the upward wall work was consolidated.
