north of Ouderkerk aan de Amstel (at Amsteldijk-Noord 65, municipality of Amstelveen) consists of a brick base and an obelisk with the coat of arms of Amsterdam. This flag was placed in 1625 to mark the area covered by Amsterdam (a geographical mile or approximately 7.4 km) and lost its function after 1813.
