The Catholic St. Anthony of Padua church in Kortenhoef

betekenis & definitie

(Kerklaan 26) is a three-aisled hall church with three-sided closed choir and a tower of three sections with constricted striker. To replace a barn church from 1810, this neo-Gothic church designed by A. Tepe was erected in 1879-'80 (restored 1983-'87).

In 1887, the interior was fitted with glazed wall tiles (K. Windt) and vault paintings (G. Janssen). The Bernulphus Guild was responsible for the interior. There is also a neo-gothic main altar by G. Brom (1883), stations of the cross (1893) and an organ (built by M. Maarschalkerweerd) (1897). The neo-Gothic presbytery (Kerklaan 24, 1879-'80) was also designed by Tepe.
