The forem is on the North Sea Canal. steam mill "Vrede" (Sluispolderweg 9), built in 1918 after a design by S.B. from Sante. In connection with the food supply in times of war, the factory was located within the Defense Line of Amsterdam.

This five-storey factory building with concrete skeleton and brick facades is richly decorated with meanders of terracotta tiles, gargoyles, lisenen and facing bricks in expressionist forms. Above the entrances, facing bricks show the year of construction and the words LUX (light) and PAX (peace). The form. steam stationery 'De Phenix' by C. Kamphuis (Oostzijde 155) comprises a six-storey building in neo-Renaissance style (circa 1880) and a four-storey industrial building from 1913. The 'Maison d'Essence' from the forem. essence and flavor factory 'Polak and Schwarz' (I. Vorrinkplein 10)

 came into being in 1930 to a functional design by J. Coenraads by the contractors J. and D. Eilmann. This white plastered three-storey building has a concrete skeleton with mushroom floors. The concrete facades have elongated steel window strips and the façade contains a slightly protruding tower-shaped part. The building was converted into an apartment complex after the restoration (2003). The tar, bitumen and paint factory 'Ropes & amp; amp; Co. '(Oostzijde 300) is a white plastered single-storey building with concrete skeleton and higher corner pavilions, built around 1930 in a style similar to that of the' Maison d'Essence '.
