The current Het Wapen van Friesland (Dam 28) was rebuilt in 1909 after a fire in neo-Renaissance style with rationalistic details and was originally the grocery store of C. Keg (founded 1832). The 'Het Wapen van Amsterdam' (Dam 8) bar built with upstairs apartments was rebuilt in 1911 after the old - originally 17th century - building had been destroyed by fire. A tile table in the gable top mentions the coffee name.
