According to an inscription, café De Roode Leeuw (Westfriesedijk 72) goes back to 1620, but in its present form it is a transverse dike house from the second half of the 19th century with a central corridor and a broad wooden roof (restored 1989). Café Schippers Welvaren (Nieuwe Streek 64) is a two-storey cross building from around 1860.
