Koedijk (municipality of Alkmaar)
Village, originated in the late Middle Ages as a unilateral ribbon development on the dike along the tidal creek de Rekere, in 1819-'24 excavated to the Noordhollands Kanaal. Since 1972 it belongs to the municipality of Alkmaar, to which it has grown.
