Ludolf - (Job of Hiob), Duitsch oriëntalist, geb. te Erfurt 1624, overl. 1704, vooral bekend als beoefenaar van het Ethiopisch. Hij schreef o. a.: Historia aethiopica sive Descriptio regni Habyssinorum (1681), Grammatica linguae aethiop. (2de uitg. 1702); Lexicon aethiopico-latinum (1699).
