Villapark Kweekduin in Overveen

betekenis & definitie

According to a plan by L.A. Springer from 1898-'99, the N.V. Inland Real Estate Company of Real Estate took this villa park at the beginning of the 20th century on a dune slope between the Haarlem-Zandvoort railway line and the Lindenheuvel estate. The form is from that country estate. porter's house, Ter Hoffsteedeweg 3, and the neorenaissance entrance gate (1900). Interesting villas are Ter Hoffsteedeweg 9 (1901, J.A.G. van der Steur), for H.B.E. Warners with chalet style and Art Nouveau elements built villa Duinhof (Kweekduinweg 12; 1906, J.H. Slot), as well as the Ruysdaelhoff (Ruysdaelweg 12) and villa Rooswijck (Ter Hoffsteedeweg 17). Also interesting are the villas Duinrode (Ter Hoffsteedeweg 19), Aardenburg (Militairenweg 14), Uitwijck (Ter Hoffsteedeweg 2), built around 1905. The villa Laagh Duyn (Kweekduinweg 14; 1906) has a strikingly decorated wooden façade. A loggia and veranda based on the colonial architectural style has the villa Militairenweg 9b (1907), built by contractor M. Nederkoorn for J. Waller Zeper. Designed in New Historic style are the plastered villa Sonnewende (Ter Hofsteedeweg 4) with arcade, and the country houses Voorduin (Ter Hoffsteedeweg 23) and Kweekduin (Ter Hoffsteedeweg 6, S.P. Rijnierse).
