The voorm synagogue in Zaandam

betekenis & definitie

(Gedempte Gracht 40) was established in 1865 after a design by L.J. Immink as a white plastered eclectic building with round arches and cast iron round arch windows. The square center volume with crossing saddle roofs is flanked by lower wings with saddle roof. After demolition in World War II, the synagogue in 1950 was restored by J.S. Perch. In 1974 the destination was changed and a modern extension was added.
