The R.K. St. John the Baptist Church in Noord-Scharwoude

betekenis & definitie

(Dorpsstraat 516a) is a three-aisled basilical cross-church with five-sided closed choir, three-sided closed transept arms and a large tower of three sections with balustrade and eight-sided pointed. This neo-Gothic church arose in 1905-'06 after a design by P.J. Bekkers to replace a church from 1856. The church restored in 1980-'81 contains altars, stations of the cross and an organ from the construction period.
