The Hervert church of Hauwert in Nibbixwoud

betekenis & definitie

(Hauwert 95), located northeast of Nibbixwoud, was originally dedicated to St. Nicholas. This one-aisled church has a straight closed choir, lower cross-walls and a narrow tower of two sections with a spire. The late-Gothic ship and the southern warwick are from the second half of the 15th century.

In the 16th century, the tower, the choir and the north-westerly building were built. In the tower there is a clock cast by Goebel Zael (1530). Around 1865 the church was partially plastered and the windows on the south side got eyebrows. The façade and roof were renewed during a renovation in 1910. The inventory includes a pulpit with felled ionic columns (mid-17th century) and one by L. van Dam & amp; amp; Zn. built organ (1869). The presbytery (Hauwert 97, circa 1865) is a large eclectic middle-class house with balcony and loggia on the floor.
