The Herv church in Oudendijk

betekenis & definitie

(Dorpsweg 24) is a one-aisled church with five-sided closed choir and a slate-covered wooden roof rider. This gothic church with buttresses replaced a church built shortly after 1459 in 1649 (facing brick). During a restoration in 1957 (D. Fledderus) the roof rider placed around 1787 was renewed and the 18th-century wooden church windows were preserved. The inventory includes a pulpit (1658, aft shot and soundboard 1656), a presidents' class (1791) and an organ (built by L. Ypma) (1892-'93).
