The Herv church in Oostwoud

betekenis & definitie

(Oosteinde 44) is a one-aisled church with five-sided closed choir and above the west facade a wooden roof rider with eight-sided spire. According to a memorial stone this church dates from 1753. In the roof rider hangs a clock (1616) cast by Henricus Nieman. Around 1875 the five-sided closed northern extension with consistory room and Sunday school came into being. Furthermore, the church received cast iron round arch windows and a wooden slatted ceiling. The inventory includes a pulpit (second half of the 17th century), a psalm board (1769) and a by L. van Dam & amp; Zn. built organ (1874).
