The foremost fort at Kudelstaart in Kudelstraat

betekenis & definitie

(Kudelstaartseweg 96) is a moated fortress of the Defense Line of Amsterdam, constructed to defend an acces (Kudelstaartseweg). The earthwork raised in 1890 was made defensible in 1894 and in 1906 an elongated bomb-free main and front building was flanked by separate lifting domes. Since 1959 the moat has been in use as a marina. There is a wooden genie shed at the fort.
