The foremost Chamber of the West Indian Company in Hoorn

betekenis & definitie

(Binnenluiendijk 2) is a building with middle ressault, corner lisians, festoons, a double platform staircase and a pediment with sculpture and the initials 'W.G.C.' (West-Indian Geo-Company). The façade designed with Louis XVI details was created in 1783-84 for three older buildings on the site in 1629 by the W.I.C. acquired terrain. The hall has stucco with emblems of trade and shipping. Furthermore, the interior contains a mantelpiece with a Louis XVI vase motif. Since 1862 it houses a Masonic lodge.
