betekenis & definitie

(Zuideinde 231) of the Frisian Mennonites replaced a building from 1664 in 1731. This two-storey wooden hall building has a wooden barrel vault and grandstands. The pulpit and some of the banks date from the construction period (two are overhauled). From the Little Church of Edam, the organ built by Matthijs Verhofstad (1718, transferred and restored 1880, P. Flaes). The church council chamber contains an 18th-century tile chimney.

Next to the church is the barbeque, built in 1731 as an orphanage. The 18th century wooden presbytery (Zuideinde 231) was given the current stone façade at the end of the 19th century.
