Village, originated on a beach wall. Count Floris V founded here from 1278-'88 the forced castles the Middelburg with a rectangular tower and the Nieuwburg, consisting of a main castle with a main tower and a walled forecourt, with a front castle next to it. Both castles were destroyed in 1517. Since 1972, Oudorp belongs to the municipality of Alkmaar and has expanded considerably and has grown to Alkmaar.
