Homes in Uitgeest

betekenis & definitie

The possibly 17th-century house De Swaen (Schevelstraat 1) was given the current view during the restoration in 1978 with stepped gable, wooden side wall and lower fittings. Also from the 17th century are Meldijk 19 with an 18th-century extension (no. 17) and a wooden front, and Middelweg 65 with an attached wooden shed (no. 63). The seventeenth-century deep house Meldijk 21 received a curved frame facade around 1870 with wide cornice and framed entrance.

Examples of mansions are De Artzenijhoff (Middelweg 34), built in 1867 in a sober eclectic style, and Middelweg 37 from 1882. Characteristic examples of late-19th century middle-class houses are Middelweg 42-44 (1889), Middelweg 85 (plastered) and Langebuurt 36 (1896) with plastered corner axes and profiled window frames. The double dwelling Middelweg 103-105 and the building Langebuurt 39 (1892) date from the same time, both executed with blocked plastered corner axes. Built around 1910 are Middelweg 59 with rich ornamental strip and the double house Middelweg 67-69 with plastered gables. The Rooie Dorp housing complex (Middelweg, Van Lithstraat et al.) Was established in 1921 (restored in 2003).
