Farms in Wognum

betekenis & definitie

The semi-timbered farmhouse Oude Gouw 1 from 1626 (date stone) has a short extended front end and two decorated chimneys. Cool is the short developed front end with scalloped wind springs and broker of the wooden farmhouse Old Gouw 24 (second half of the 18th century).

Also the farmhouse Westeinderweg 23 with short extended front end is in the 18th century. Its monumental form is the Welgelegen holster farm (Kerkstraat 1) with a mirror, an extended bay window and a bell gable dated from the claws (1879). The farm was completely rebuilt in that year, with eighteenth-century elements reused for the bell-gable. Other interesting farmhouses are Kerkstraat 102 (1880) with facing brick from 1626, the Commandeurshoeve (Kerkstraat 90, circa 1890) with stepped gable roof, and Westeinderweg 33 (circa 1860, converted in 1902).
