Eenigenburg in Sint Maarten

betekenis & definitie

This small village south of Sint Maarten consists of buildings on some early medieval households. The one-aisled Herv, also on a mound. church (Surmerhuizerweg 29) replaced a possible 15th century church in 1792.

In the wooden façade tower there is a clock (1535) cast by Goebel Zael. The roof got pans shortly after 1875. The church inventory includes a pulpit with the coat of arms of Eenigenburg (1698) and one by Scholgens & amp; Van den Haspel built organ (1876). The presbytery (Surmerhuizerweg 37), built in 1858, is a neoclassical middle-class house with higher rises in the middle ressault. The form. Public primary school annex teaching house (Surmerhuizerweg 11) dates from 1877. Examples of small farm workers located on a terp are Surmerhuizerweg 13 and 15 (mid 19th century).
