Company buildings in Monnickendam

betekenis & definitie

From the forem. dairy factory 'Hoop doet Leven' (Singel 1) is the building that was built around 1890 with stepped gables in neo-Renaissance style (extensively circa 1910, restored in 1995). The Auxiliary Tribute building (Kermergracht 6) [17] was built out of a legacy in 1907 for the 'Association for the support of fair and diligent poverty for the prevention of begging' (founded 1853). As a job, the poor could braid baskets and fluff rope. This building with wide truncated stepped gable sheltered shops from 1938 to 1993 and was then converted into apartments. The form remains of the modest fish-processing industry. fish smokehouse Havenstraat 28 (circa 1920).
