The foremost orphanage and hospice in Velsen
(Torenstraat 2), built in 1767-'69 to plans of Jacob Gaykema, is an L-shaped mansion with slightly protruding middle part and a framed entrance. Since 1967, the building partly serves as a shelter for a Masonic lodge.
