The foremost orphanage in Oostzaan
(Zuideinde 36) was built in 1695, rebuilt in 1713 and around 1860 with a plaster layer and a neoclassical entrance. Sculpted festoons flank the window above the entrance. Three late 17th-century fireplaces have been preserved in the building.
