Nieuwe Niedorp (municipality of Niedorp)
Village, originated in the Middle Ages as peat reclamation. In 1415, Oude and Nieuwe Niedorp, together with Winkel as 'Stede Niedorp', received city rights, but these were purely administrative in nature. A two-sided ribbon development formed, which gradually became denser.
