Onder zijn werken munten uit: the Poems of Beowulf (1833), een voorrede voor de Angelsaksische Bibliotheek van Francisque Michel 1836), Translation of te poem of Beowulf 1837), Codex diplomaticus aevi Saxonici (1830 —1848), the Saxons in Engeland (1849), State papers and correspondence illustralive of the state of Europa from the reoolution to the accession of the house of Hanover (1857).
