The water tower in Overveen

betekenis & definitie

(Tetterodeweg 23) arose in 1897-'98 for the Municipal Water Company Haarlem to a design by J. Schotel. This round tower in neo-Renaissance style, located on a dune, has a cantilevered superstructure with tilting and contains a reservoir of the type Intze II. From the same time, probably also designed by Schotel, are the forem. machine building (Tetterodeweg 27, enlarged circa 1950), a clean water cellar surrounded by six filters (covered 1948), the now used office (Tetterodeeweg)

25) with neo-Renaissance and chalet style elements, and some service dwellings (Tetterodeweg 31 and Zeeweg 15-17). A second clean water cellar and a prefilter building in cubist expressionist style were taken into use in 1934 and in 1937 respectively.
