The R.K. O.L. Vrouwe Geboortekerk in Uitgeest

betekenis & definitie

(Langebuurt 35) is a pseudobasilical cruciform church with a five-sided closed choir with side chapels and a half-built tower of three sections with constricted needle spire. This neo-Gothic church was erected in 1882-'84 after a design by E.J. Margry and replaced a church from 1832. Next to the tower is a rectangular baptistery. The church was restored in 1974-'75. The neo-Gothic inventory parts were made by Margry atelier and there is an Adema organ from 1898. The stained glass windows were made by F. Nicolas.

The churchyard behind the church, which was opened in 1872, has a small neo-Gothic chapel and a priest's cellar from 1874. The presbytery (Langebuurt 37) is a villa built in neo-Saisance forms in 1884, designed by Margry.
