(Krimp 23-24) contains the early-17th-century wooden house in which Tsar Peter the Great lived during his stay in Zaandam in 1697. Elements of Russian timber construction were incorporated in the supporting wooden frame. The house is placed in a commission by Tsar Nicholas II by G.B. and A. Salm designed hall in neo-Renaissance style (1896-'97). Cartouches mention the years of the two visits of the tsar to Zaandam (1697 and 1717) and the gable is crowned by a hard stone Russian imperial crown. The adjoining management home and the surrounding wall also date from around 1897.
