The Herv church in Nieuwe Niedorp

betekenis & definitie

(at Dorpsstraat 179) is a modern church (1965-'66, A.N. Schippers), built on the site of a predecessor from 1876 who replaced a medieval church. The late-15th-century tower of the old church remains with a 17th-century third articulation. The tower has perpendicular buttresses with pinnacle-like crowns and is provided with bacon layers and niches with late-gothic traces. There is a clock cast by François and Pieter Hemony (1653).

In the cemetery are still some, mainly 17th-century, gravestones from an old church. The form. presbytery (Dorpsstraat 120) is an eclectic middle-corridor dating from 1876 with sloping roof and cut wind springs.
