The Gemeenlandshuis van Waterland in Monnickendam

betekenis & definitie

(Zarken 23) [12] consists of a building section from 1619 with a Manniëssische band and rolwerkgevel and a 17th century neighbor's building with stepped gable added in 1743. From 1831 to 1987, this double building was owned by the Hoogheemraadschap Waterland. During a major restoration in 1908, the façades were rebuilt while retaining the natural stone façade parts. The brick with a city coat of arms comes from the Noordeinderpoort, which was demolished in 1888.
