(Schans 32) is a 17th-century two-storey building that originally served as a schoutenhuis. After it had been used as a barracks in 1672, it was rebuilt in 1677 and again after a fire in 1781. From 1824 to 1914, the city council resided on the floor (separate entrance from 1892) of the former lodging and coffee house 'De Vergulde Ster'. Now the building is entirely in use as a hotel.
