Residential homes in Sint Maartensbrug

betekenis & definitie

From the Hoge Huys (Grote Sloot 201) a basement part remains with a plastered façade. Already in 1601 a house with two cachots is mentioned. In 1628, a bell-jar farm was built. Until 1631 the building served as a polder house 'Gemeenlandts Hofstede'.

The presumably early-19th century peasant farm Grote Sloot 209 was converted into a shop around 1900. A higher elevated central section with pediment and acroteria has the neoclassical central corridor Brandwijck (Grote Sloot 239, circa 1872). Next to it is a coach house from the same time. The form. pastorie Grote Sloot 173 was built in 1880 by contractor P. Wilms with eclectic details and a crossing roof with top broker.
