Examples of simple 18th-century houses - possibly built as serviced dwellings at one of the many country estates - are Bloemendaalseweg 202, 214-216, 252-254, 256 and Korte Zijlweg 8 (recently moved backwards). These single-layered buildings have a saddle roof between spout facades. Other examples are Elswoutslaan 4-6 and 5-7, Duinlustweg 40-42 and 48 (double top façade), and the plastered house Korte Zijlweg 10. The eighteenth-century two-storey houses Zijlweg 7-11 have a spout or bell façade. The one-storey building Zijlweg 10 is partly provided with a cornice and partly with a truncated bell façade. As a workshop in use, the deep building with a gable at Zijlweg dates back to 1809

18. In 1795, on behalf of Middenduin as a farmhouse with stable, the building Middenduin (Zeeweg 27) was divided in 1885 into three dwellings and in 1935 converted into a single dwelling. Built around 1900 are the form. service accommodation Duinlustweg 4 and 6-8. The middle-class houses A. Stoopplein 1-6 (1924) show a strong resemblance to the adjacent Kennemer Lyceum.
