Homes in Muiderberg

betekenis & definitie

Built around 1880, the deep houses Nienhuis Ruyskade 2-24 are equipped with serlian windows and processed wind springs. From 1880 the robust house Woudheuvel (Googweg 2-4) dates with eclectic details. The white plastered Villa Caecilia (Brink 24) from 1883 was inhabited for some time by composer G.A. Heinze.

In a rich eclectic style W.F.K. Roemer, director of the Amsterdam palace of Volksvlijt, built the plastered villa Flevorama (Nienhuis Ruyskade 1) in 1885 with its dormer windows adorned with carved styles. The villa is located at a steep slope of the Muiderberg, created by the exit of the sea. On behalf of the Amsterdammer Rijnders, the eclectic middle-class house Villa Amelia (Brink 5) was built in 1889. Nice early 20th century houses are Eikenlaan 14 (circa 1900), Mignon (Eikenlaan 12, circa 1902) and De Coehoorn (Eikenlaan 48, circa 1910). Examples of double villas with horizontal bands built around 1910 are Rozenhage (Eikenlaan 8-10) and Landzicht (Populierenlaan 5-7).
