The important mid-17th century farmhouse De Barmhartige Samaritaan (Westerblokker 39) was probably built as a money investment for a wealthy Hoorn merchant, who had his men's room in the porch. This restored (in 1988-'89) restored (C. de Jong) farm has a slightly indented wooden door and a non-protruding front house with a Mannerist stepped gable and an elegant brick chimney. The carved door calf shows an image of the Good Samaritan and the date '1659'. Other interesting farmhouses are De Lindenplaats (Westerblokker 52, circa 1760) with white plastered and far extended front house, and Buitenrust (Westerblokker 159; 1862) with mirror.
