Churches in Wieringerwerf

betekenis & definitie

The village has three hall churches, namely the Herv. church (Meeuwstraat 44, circa 1938) with half-built tower on the choir side, de Geref. church (Terpstraat 38; 1938, A. Rothuizen) with half-built slender tower with needle spire and a youth house (1955), and the R.K. Christus Koningkerk (Prof. Granpré Molièrestraat 23; 1939-'40, H.M. Martens). The latter is equipped with a three-sided closed choir apse and a tower made of rubble stone with corner pillars and eight-sided pointed. The choir and ship section, which was removed from the inundation, was restored in 1948.
