This hamlet on the Westeinderplassen west of Kudelstaart arose in the 12th century by peat reclamation. After the church was burned down in 1803 (demolished after 1827) the village was abandoned. On the forem. graveyard (at Herenweg 64) the wall remains of the medieval church have been excavated. Within the foundations, built up in 1976, are one late Gothic and some 17th century gravestones.
