John francis maguire

iersch politikus, geb. te Cork 1815, overl. te Dublin 1872; richtte in 1841 het blad „Cork Examiner” op, ter ondersteuning van de politiek van O’Connell; in 1852 kreeg hij zitting in het Lagerhuis. Hij schreef: The industrial movement in Ireland (1852), Father Mathew (1863), Rome and its Ruler (1856), The Pontificale of Pius IX (1870).
