Farms in Oosterend

betekenis & definitie

In the surroundings of Oosterend are some, in the main mostly 18th century, collapsed farms with an elongated extended house with a top facade with wooden front.

An example of this is Nesweg 10, where some rooms have a paneling in the form of white tiles with a blue border. Other examples are the Lange Gang (East 73) farms, with a front house and adjoining parents' room, Nescio (Oosterweg 20) and Zevenhuizen 5, which served as a home for seafarers from 1717 to 1784. The stolpboerderij Oosterenderweg 25 got its barn in 1832 and in 1887 a (not extended) living area with wooden front. The bell-shed at Nesweg 41 was built around 1860. From 1907, the farmhouse called Byron (Eastern Cape 10) with its extended barn door.
