The previous Orange Orphanage in Huizen
(Oranje Weeshuislaan 5), a large basement and two-tier neorenaissance building with mezzanine, was established in 1869 from the surplus of funds for victims of the flood in the Bommelerwaard (1861). Above the entrance is a circular arch with cast iron statues of orphans at a table with the Statenbijbel.
