(geb. Brown), Engels dichteres (Liverpool 25 Sept. 1793 - Dublin 16 Mei 1835), schreef reeds vroeg verzen.
Haar ouders gaven haar eerste bundel Poems (1808) uit. Zij stoorde zich niet aan de scherpe critiek en schreef nog in hetzelfde jaar England and Spain, or Valour and Patriotism, a Poem. Haar gedichten munten uit door buitengewone gratie en gevoeligheid maar missen een diepe gedachtengang. Zij zelf hechtte weinig waarde aan haar talrijke bundels, behalve aan haar kleinere verzen, hoewel haar populariteit ook in Amerika zeer groot was.
