Compère, - Loyset, Zuidned. componist, *?, ♱1518 Saint-Quentin. Compère ontving zijn opleiding als koorknaap te Saint-Quentin. Te Milaan trad hij in dienst van Galeazzo Sforza.
Na tijdelijk als chantre ordinaire onder Karel VIII gediend te hebben, werd hij te Saint-Quentin kanunnik en kanselier. Compère was m.n. beroemd om zijn chansons. Composities: mis Lhomme armé, 26 motetten, chansons.
