The previous Herv. rest home in Monnickendam
(Kerkstraat 33) [10] is a two-tiered building with a broad, austere neoclassicist façade, built in 1856 as a former men's and women's house. From 1974 to 1994, a family-replacing home was housed here and the building was given the inscription "De Vriendschap" with the year "1856" in wooden letters.
