Midwoud (municipality of Noorder-Koggenland)
Village, originated in the high middle ages as peat extraction. With Twisk and Lambertschaag it was a modest part of the 'Stede Abbekerk'. After the Second World War, the ribbon development got a considerable expansion on the north side.
